Serving Wayne State College
CrossPoint Campus Ministry

CrossPoint Campus Ministry is a student organization of Wayne State College.  The name CrossPoint is symbolic in many ways.  The cross symbolizes our faith and love for Jesus Christ.  The name also represents the phase of life students enter during college: a crossroads, a point of change between youth and adulthood.  Our prayer is that you will come to the Cross and this Point in your life.

CrossPoint is an interdenominational orgnaization, part of UMHE, or United Ministries in Higher Education.  UMHE is basically a bunch of Christians from a variety of backgrounds who've covenanted together to support campus ministries across the country!  Specifically, we're supported by four churches: The United Methodist Church, The Presbyterian Church (USA), The United Church of Christ, The Disciples of Christ (see links to websites, below).

Although we're supported by specific churches, students come to CrossPoint from a variety of faith backgrounds.  All Wayne State College students are welcome at CrossPoint!

CrossPoint is currently served by a staff of three.  Our Director and Campus Minister is the Reverend Rachelle McCalla, mother of three and wife of the Reverend Ray McCalla, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Wayne (see family photo, below).  Rachelle is a graduate of Hastings College and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, where she earned her Master of Divinity degree and won awards in both preaching and Biblical studies.

Our two Peer Ministers are Kim Meyer and Kendra Timm, who are both currently students at Wayne State College (find photos of Kim & Kendra by clicking on "news" above).

Employment Opportunity: CrossPoint is looking to hire an additional Peer Minister for the 08-09 school year. If you're interested or want more information, please e-mail Rachelle at crosspointumhe@yahoo.com
